International Tools (IT) ECO PRO HSS-E machine tap (DIN 371) for tapping metric screw threads. This industry-quality tap is the stainless steel specialist in the ECO PRO line.<br><br>Manufactured from cobalt-alloyed HSS-E, this tap provides the required heat resistance for working with tough stainless steel. The steam vent finish (surface treatment) prevents cold welding (chip formation at the cutting edge), which is crucial for stainless steel.<br><br>The DIN 371 standard guarantees a reinforced shank for maximum stability. The helical rake (form B) and 3.5-5 thread cutting edge are optimized for through holes, where chips are effectively pushed forward.
